INTERNATIONAL AND MULTI-DISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVES ON EVIDENCE-BASED POLICY – Seminar 4: Historical and International Perspectives on Health
Professors Susanne MacGregor and Virginia Berridge, as Fellows of the Academy of Social Science, and members of the History Centre, are convening a seminar for the Academy on historical and international perspectives on health policy. This will be the fourth in the Academy series on international and multidisciplinary perspectives on evidence-based policy, organised overall by Professor Linda Hantrais and Susanne MacGregor.
The seminar will be held in the afternoon of 4 December at the Academy offices in Finsbury Square. The themes for the afternoon will be ‘public health’ and ‘health systems’.
The first part of the afternoon will be focussed on two ‘conversations’ with named speakers on these themes. We will allow an hour for each ‘conversation’.
The audience is invited and express their interests generally beforehand so that they can be allocated to particular themes and tables.
After tea, we break into groups for themed discussions and report back.
Its intended that the seminar will lead into a special issue of the journal Contemporary Social Science and a call for papers will be available on the day.
